I’d like to ask you a few questions:
Q: What exactly are you trying to accomplish with this? How many people do you think this bill will get to?
A: Objective
- To pass something that has a lure to someone else can be hard. but “The act of giving is gratifying”- M. so promote the idea of ‘the act of giving.’
- Locate the bill and the stories that come with it. send in the e-mails!
- It’s a social experiment to 1. test if people can resist temptation and trust the word of a stranger 2. test human curiousity 3. test if people would take the initiative to send an e-mail 4. lastly, the hardest part: to initiate a conversation with a complete stranger and continue the link.
- And to connect people, we are connected through technology but we rarely interact with people face to face with others outside our circle, on a fundamental level. And on top of that commit a random act of kindness.
I am hoping for this to eventually go global, so possibly hundreds maybe even thousands? it’s centralized right now but the word is spreading.
Q: The temptation is really not that great - $5 isn’t much? Would you consider a larger bill, like a $10 or a $20 if this turns out to be a success?
A: $5 isn’t much but the temptation is still there. For example, why do you go for free stuff? because it’s free! And a larger bill will be put into consideration if successful.
Q: Do you think that an average person would care enough to go online and e-mail you just based on what he/she reads on the bill?
A: Well, it would work best if it was passed from word of mouth along with the note. It would make a better impression and would have a liklier chance of succeeding. Curiousity is also a drive and the idea of being part of something bigger than thyself.
Q: I assume you know that businesses send their cash to the banks and old currency is usually destroyed.
A: Yes, the bill could get lost in many ways. It should be passed from person to person and shouldn’t be spent. But, it might eventually. There are loopholes to this project that need touching up, but it is still at the developing stage. Changes and updates will be made, so keep posted!
